Work Schedule : To be determined based on student's school schedule of open / off blocks. Student may only be a paid tutor during an off block / free period.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary / Objective : AVID Tutoring opportunities exist at comprehensive middle and high schools in District 6. Applicants must be willing to work within a variety of content areas with small groups of students under the supervision of a certified teacher in a classroom during the regular school day. D6 Student AVID Tutors serve as guides and facilitators of students' learning through questioning, writing, thinking, and discussing. D6 Student AVID Tutors may work a minimum of one hour per week, or multiple hours, depending on the tutor's availability of open / off blocks. D6 Student AVID Tutors must be a junior or senior in a District 6 high school and must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application.
Complete AVID Tutor Training (4 hours asynchronous)

Work Environment / Physical Demands : Ability to sit for long periods of time, numerous distractions, visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity important. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
