Position Summary:
The Assistant Field Manager is responsible for coordinating the supervision of a crew while on the job site, ensuring team members work safely and efficiently in delivering quality jobs on time per company and Field Manager expectations. Reviews and follows the planning, assignment and directing of work through labor, material, and equipment management, ensuring the successful completion of assigned contract maintenance and snow removal projects. Supports the Field Manager in the development, training, and performance management of crew members, and assists in resolving immediate customer issues faced in the field. Performs Crew Member duties as assigned. Reports directly to the Field Manager or Operations Manager.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing, supervising and training employees to complete projects within established quality guidelines and job timeframe.
- Relay status of quality of work daily to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled in a manner that is in line with proper horticultural practices.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the hourly and cost budgets for each job, supporting the Field Manager in the necessary tasks that ensure the execution of budget and timeline expectations.
- Comply with the equipment preventative maintenance program daily, ensuring assigned vehicle and equipment is in good working order.
- Maintain safe working conditions on job site at all times; follow and implement all company safety guidelines and ensure crew members are doing the same.
- Identify ways to improve work processes, efficiency, and quality. Collaborate with Field Manager and crew members to implement new strategies.
- Maintain a positive relationship with Clients through professional communication and prompt response to Client’s requests. Relay to Field Manager all client concerns and communication on the job site.
- Assist Field Manager in the development of crew members by reviewing annual goals with them and monitoring their progress through informal evaluations and real-time feedback.
- Perform daily Crew Member job responsibilities as needed and as assigned, including but not limited to landscape maintenance, hardscape maintenance
- Daily responsibilities include monitoring AM and PM procedures for crew members and completing all daily paperwork as assigned.
- May be required to safely transport Crew Members and other Green Acres employees to and from job sites.
