Green Acres Nursery & Supply is a growing company looking to inspire and expand our customer’s outdoor living space one plant / project at a time. Duties include, but not limited to:
- Purchase and manage garden solutions (dry goods products such as fertilizers, insecticides, etc.) soils, tools, etc. based on trends, customer needs, inventory levels, corporate spreads, demographics, special events, and seasonality.
- Managing freight flow for entire department.
- Become familiar with Sales dashboard and keep track of department sales.
- Assist customers in selecting products for purchase, including garden solutions, soils, tools, etc. Compare features and benefits of multiple products to help customers in their selection process.
- Ask questions and listen to customers to determine customer needs and goals.
- Share product and plant knowledge, answer questions and provide guidance to customers to help ensure success with their gardening projects. Share information about plant care, common pests and other plant conditions and suggest solutions regarding proper products and growing conditions.
- Provide plant diagnostics for customers and co-workers.
- Collaborate with employees in other departments as needed to ensure correct answer and guidance.
- Managing and participate in the stocking, cleaning, and maintenance of products and department.
- Managing, mentoring, and educating staff. Manage and support your team to ensure daily tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Communicate with store management regarding department needs.
- Dump and record non-retail quality product daily and process in inventory system weekly.
- Communicate with sales vendors regarding quality issues, deliveries, orders, or anything related to the company they represent.
