What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Attendant position at Green Acres Pet Resort?
Duties
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel facility
- Clean and sanitize kennels, runs and play areas
- Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs
- Exercise and socialize animals to ensure their physical and mental well-being
- Monitor animals for any signs of illness or distress and report to management or supervisor
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications, and any observed changes in behavior or health
Requirements
- Previous experience working with animals is preferred
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Knowledge of basic animal care practices and procedures
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary staff
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require heavy lifting or prolonged periods of standing or walking
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
- Veterinary technician or dog training certification is a plus
