Senior Environmental Engineer Role Overview
This position supports environmental compliance programs and operational excellence activities for the Arkansas Kraft Division under the supervision of the Environmental Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- Owning and maintaining facility-wide air compliance, developing and executing strategies in line with Title V air permits.
- Collaborating with regulators on site inspections, permit renewals, and modifications.
- Providing support to team members in solid waste, hazardous waste, SPCC, and wastewater areas.
- Conducting environmental awareness training for employees.
- Manging tasks required for environmental compliance.
- Partnering with personnel to implement process upgrades ensuring environmental compliance.
- Evaluating capital projects for environmental obligations and necessary permit changes.
- Developing sustainability and facility improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in direct air compliance and permitting in a Title V major source facility (preferably pulp and paper).
- Proficiency in environmental regulations (CAA, RCRA, SARA, SPCC, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey consistent messages at all levels.
- Data interpretation and reporting abilities.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A self-starter with initiative and independence.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel is preferred.
