What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Lead position at Green Bay Packaging - Great Lakes Division?
Responsibilities
- Perform journal entries that are required during the month.
- Inspect account books for accuracy by doing monthly and yearly reconciliations on all accounts.
- Organize and update all financial records in order to complete financial review.
- Prepare preliminary financial statements and review for accuracy and legal compliance.
- Recommend ways to reduce costs in the organization and enhance revenue through margin improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to Corporate guidelines on Accounts Receivable collection and credit initiatives weekly.
- Maintain accurate inventory values and levels by performing cycle counts and reporting of aged items.
- Perform essential billing activities for large customers who require us to use special invoicing portals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred with a minimum of three years of practical general ledger work experience.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to read and analyze financial statements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to query data from our system database through use of Microsoft Access is preferred.
