Junior Accountant - Paragon Property Management Group

Overview

Position Purpose: The Junior Accountant must believe in, practice, and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how he or she approaches their role at Green Brick Partners.

The Junior Accountant role is a research heavy position that uses their ability to be a team player to ensure that all vendors are paid accurately, timely and assist on the financials reports.

Responsibilities

· Verify proper approval of invoices prior to entry

· Correspond with vendors to solve invoice or payment related problems

· Timely & Accurately code and enter invoices into accounting system

· Research, track and resolve Accounting related problems (outstanding checks, statement reconciliation, duplicate invoices)

· Ensure online payments are made and corresponding journal entries are recorded timely

· Assist with monthly reconciliation of office credit card

· Generates checks and EFT payments along with reconciling payment reports

· Reconcile vendor statements

· Maintain organized accounting records

· Assist with Month end close tasks

· Prepare Journal Entries

· Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations relating to position responsibilities

· Prepare monthly billbacks between individual HOAs and management company

· Maintain vendor enrollment and compliance in VIVE software

· Assist Client Services team as needed

· Manage Positive Pay

Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability: This position involves the level of duties as described above, or similar, but is not a position of supervisory or management level.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

Qualifications

Education:

· High School Diploma

· College Accounting Courses preferred

Experience:

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, comfortable with spreadsheets

· 2 years of Accounts Payable Processing experience preferred

· 2 years of Accounting Experience preferred

Competencies:

· Ability to meet multiple deadlines (daily, weekly, and monthly)

· Proficient and accurate data entry skills

· Thoroughness

· Detail oriented / high attention to detail

· Good communication skills – Ability to communicate verbally and electronically with all levels of organization

· Good organizational skills

· Good customer service skills

· Bilingual communication skills preferred
