Overview

Position Purpose: The Land Development Manager must believe in, practice and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how he or she approaches their role at Green Brick Partners.

Overall responsibility would be for the development and delivery of finished residential lots to our Team Builders and third-party builders.

Responsibilities

· Coordination with the engineer on plan drafting and obtaining municipal and building partner approvals.

· Evaluation of cost estimates and working with the engineer towards best value designs.

· Construction contract drafting and bid coordination.

· Coordination of franchise utilities service, contracts, construction and pursue any rebate programs for reduction in facility costs.

· Management of field work during the development process, which includes lot development as well as landscape, hardscape and amenities construction.

· Manage municipal staff and contractors to keep on schedule.

· Working with builder partners to ensure lots delivered are designed and built for the intended product, and to solve any coordination issues related to the City, any other municipal authorities, and the HOA.

· Administration of construction contracts, including invoice review and approvals, budget reporting and assistance with loan draws.

· Participation in long range planning for phasing and product purposes.

· Facilitate final acceptance from municipalities and building partners.

· Facilitate and manage special financing district(s) as it relates to single family residential development

Supervision of Others: Third-party trades/vendors.

Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability:

· Manage construction operations in regard to constructability and specific site conditions.

Physical Requirements: Must have a vehicle capable of carrying supplies, valid driver’s license and be willing to drive among designated communities in daytime and nighttime.

Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; climb, balance and stoop, crouch or crawl; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and

hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

Location: DFW East metroplex field work and office at Plano Corporate Office.

Qualifications

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.

Experience:

· 3 years of single-family residential development engineering design, project management or construction management experience.

· 1 to 3 years of managing a special financing district on behalf of a developer (i.e. Public Improvement District (PID), Municipal Utility District (MUD), and/or Municipal Management District (MMD).

DFW Residency:

· The candidate must reside in the Eastern portion of the DFW metroplex.

Competencies:

· Proficient at Word, Excel, and various other computer programs.

· Ability to solve problems in a professional manner.

· Attention to detail, accuracy and resolve to get the tasks done right the first time.

· Excellent work ethic.
