What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer Coordinator position at Green Chimneys?
The Volunteer Coordinator will create opportunities to utilize volunteer support to help build capacity within the organization. The Coordinator works with Farm and School staff, fund development, marketing, maintenance, and human resources to assess organizational needs and establish goals and strategies to support those needs and the mission of Green Chimneys. Additionally, the volunteer coordinator will create activities to help increase volunteers' knowledge of the organization, thereby building commitment and further advocacy and support for Green Chimneys, while assisting volunteers and the businesses or agencies they represent (where applicable) with their philanthropic goals. Green Chimneys is looking for a candidate that has experience in a leadership role, corporate relations role, or in working with individual financial donors. The incumbent's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing all volunteer activities; recruiting, training, managing, supporting, and providing stewardship to corporate and agency volunteers, groups, and individual volunteers. This role requires strong organizational and reporting skills as it is highly administrative in nature with a significant relationship management component.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or related educational experience required.
- 3-5 years of experience in volunteer management, fund development, human resources management, or related experience preferred.
The rate of pay for this role is $55,000 annually and it is a full time, benefit eligible role.
