· Most be able to use our electronic medical record system. This work is repetitive, requires long periods of sitting and/or standing and typing and must be done daily.
· Must be able and eligible to drive an agency vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and pass a MVR.
· Must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
· Must be able to move up to 50 pounds.
· Must be willing to perform other duties as requested by your immediate supervisor or members of the agency’s Leadership Team.
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standard
· Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Oklahoma; background in behavioral health preferred.
· Three to five years’ experience in the field with, at least, one-year in a supervisory role preferred.
Essential Job Functions
· Ensures nursing staff at FWC adhere to daily unit schedule.
· Responsible for scheduling nursing coverage at FWC and will be expected to fill in if coverage cannot be arranged.
· Promotes a positive nursing work environment.
· Responsible for tracking inventory of medication and medical supplies. Responsible for Ordering supplies as needed.
· Assist FWC providers with documentation modalities, as needed.
· Provides daily oversight of nursing duties at FWC, as needed.
o Collects medical information (current and past) about the people we serve through on-going assessment, observation and analysis and documents accordingly.
o Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing guidelines.
o Obtains vital signs to detect deviations from normal and documents the client’s current status.
o Provides medication education to clients / members and their families.
o Ensures the provision of utilizing best practice models for client care and staff education in relation to nursing care for the chronically mentally ill and person with addiction issues.
o Assist those we serve in gaining knowledge and skills to reduce problems and improve skills to lead healthy, self-sufficient productive lives.
· Assists with coordinating care with external medical providers as needed, such as the FQHCs, Pharmacies, PCPs, etc.
· Can demonstrate knowledge of the role trauma plays in recovery and provides trauma informed, gender sensitive, age appropriate, culturally competent, and person- centered services.
· Can demonstrate a working knowledge and skills in the following, at a minimum: developmental life span; State laws for reporting abuse and neglect.
· Serves as an advocate for clients and their families.
· Acts as a part of a multidisciplinary team including but not limited to: clinical staff, nursing staff, support staff, and those we are serving in treatment team discussion and actions.
· Able to demonstrate applicable knowledge and practice of effective crisis intervention skills.
· Able to identify unit goals and passionate about meeting those goals.
· Can effectively and efficiently staff cases with providers regarding clinical nursing care, specific to length of stays and client outcomes.
· Can assess own strengths and weaknesses; pursues training and development; strives to build knowledge and skills; shares expertise with others.
· Can effectively delegate duties as needed.
Supervisory Relationships
Works under the direct supervision of the DON.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.00 - $44.00 per hour
