What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Green Dot Labs?
The Inventory Expeditor works to ensure that Green Dot Labs’ component inventory, warehousing and deliveries are accurate. This role supplies and stages all items needed for production teams to complete daily projects. This role also supports the Sr. Supply Chain Manager with quality control and inventory tracking processes. The position requires a self-motivated individual, attention to detail, organizational expertise, and the ability to work well with a team.
The Inventory Expeditor must communicate clearly to support coordination of materials in the facility and with suppliers for delivery of goods. Familiarity with and ability to learn technology and systems is required. The Inventory Expeditor will work with the Order Fulfillment, Packaging, and Inventory teams to ensure accuracy, quality, compliance, and safety are delivered in every transaction.
Expedite Supplies for Production:
- Review and monitor daily production schedule to pull all items needed for each scheduled task from component inventory
- Organize and stage needed supplies daily and in real time to set up packaging and order fulfillment teams up for success
- Monitor and refill supplies as needed though out the day
- Coordinate and expedite materials for the flow of work between various packaging lines, to ensure the timely completion of production batches
- Monitor depletion of boxes used by order fulfillment and resupply as needed
- Work with packaging management to understand future material needs
- Prep materials for production tasks to be completed the next morning and on weekends ahead of production need
Receiving and Warehousing:
- Receive all inbound inventory (item receipts): physically unload and reorganize boxes in the warehouse
- Processes bills of lading to confirm the receipt of inventory, verifying the content, monitor unloading to track damages, and processes bill of lading to confirm receipt of all expected goods
- Enter all received items into ERP for tracking and report discrepancies, recording any damage or delay in delivery
- Coordinate with Senior Supply Chain Manager to resolve PO discrepancies, and connect with vendor to resolve RTV product issues as needed
- Assist Senior Supply Chain Manager with tracking of POs
- Coordinate with cultivation and production teams for internal flower transfers /deliveries, track and record material receipt as required in METRC
- Assure adherence to all established receiving, traceability, compliance and quality assurance procedures and specifications
- Occasional local travel to offsite storage may be required
Inventory Management:
- Allocate inventory to the correct warehouse locations as it comes in to maintain an orderly and compliant warehouse space
- Identify and address gaps in inventory processes
- Act as main point of contact for tracking and reporting batterie inventory including supporting other teams battery stock questions
- Conduct weekly and monthly stock takes to manage component inventory effectively
- Report supply reorder needs, shortfalls or unusual rates of depletion to ensure required inventory of materials are on site
- Assure inventory accuracy and work with supervisor to create resolution of discrepancy
- Work with supervisor to develop and implement continuous improvement of process keeping accurate inventory and records
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
- Standard 40-hour work week with possible over time as needed
- Working hours will be spent in the lab, warehouse, and office
- Physical activity such as walking and lifting is required daily
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds and carry up and down stairs, able to stand for long periods of time, able to bend, push, pull and reach
- The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, including using stairs

Education, Experience, & Other Requirements:
- 1 year experience in licensed MMJ facility desirable
- 2 years experience working with inventory systems and processes required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office particularly Excel
- Prior experience with METRC desirable
- Prior experience with other inventory management systems or ERP a plus
- Must have and maintain valid MED badge * Must have a reliable form of transportation
- Valid Driver’s license
