Green Energy Consumers Alliance is seeking a full-time Marketing Intern to join our team for summer 2025. We are a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower consumers and communities to speed a just transition to a zero-carbon world through green energy programs, education, and advocacy.
Our energy programs offer New Englanders:
- Education and shopping tools for electric vehicles
- Green electricity for homes, offices, and whole communities
- Efficient electricity and heating
- Advocacy for climate-friendly energy policy
Internship responsibilities include:
- Assist with planning events to showcase electric vehicles and renewable energy sources;
- Attend and table at events;
- Draft occasional communications for members and participants;
- Develop marketing materials, such as flyers, posters, and social media posts;
- Assist with mailings;
- General program administrative tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to closely follow written procedures;
- Experience with digital marketing and/or content creation
- Creative and innovative thinking
Desired Qualifications:
- Interested in electric vehicles and renewable energy, with a desire to learn more;
- Fluency in a second language;
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite or Canva;
- Experience coordinating events of any size;
- Experience doing outreach for a campaign or cause
Eligible Candidates Include:
- Students or recent graduates of a college or a training program in Rhode Island or Massachusetts, OR who are residents of Rhode Island or Massachusetts. Prospective interns must also meet one (1) of the following:
- Students must have completed or will complete at least their freshman year of college the semester before the internship (24 Credits) or have graduated within the past year;
- If a student attends or attended a community college (or 2-year associate program), the student must have completed at least 24 credits;
- If a student has attended a training program, that program must have been completed within the last year;
- If a student attends an out-of-state university, they must provide proof of RI or MA residency; OR
- Graduate students must be currently enrolled in their program or have completed it within the last year.

This 12-week internship with negotiable hours (ideally 30-40 hours/week) will be conducted in a hybrid fashion, working both remotely and at least one day a week from our office in Jamaica Plain, MA or Providence, RI. The session will start on or after May 19, 2025, and end by August 29, 2025. The hours can be fulfilled around your schedule, but must be during 9am-6pm M-F. The pay is $22.00/hr. Occasional nights and weekend days may be necessary to staff events. The internship is contingent upon funding from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center or RI Office of Energy Resources.
