Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Route Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods to various locations while maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage routes effectively.
Responsibilities
- Stock the assigned truck with snack and beverage products to support the filling of vending machines; take inventory of the vending machines monthly to ensure proper stocking of machines with handheld devices.
- Drive a delivery vehicle to the location and park the vehicle in a suitable location without hampering the normal flow of traffic.
- Organize the product in the vending machines and micro-markets by merchandising the products (i.e. filling the coils, making products look attractive, rotating products, organizing brands together, cleaning coils or shelves, removing out of date products, etc.); clean the vending machines and micro-markets on a regular basis. If machine need service, input a service ticket for technician.
- Ensure the vending machine equipment is up to date and effective (i.e. coins for change, keeping prices updated, “dexing” the machine); ensure the check in/check out process and collecting cash from the vending machines when needed.
- Maintain your vehicle is in good working order; keep it clean (inside and outside) and presentable to customer locations.
- Learn the micro-market systems; set up correct inventory counts monthly.
- Seek new opportunities for vending, (i.e., food, pop or snack machine or a micro-market); communicate current customer or new customer information to Account Manager.
Other duties might include:
- Assist in the movement of the vending machines from a particular location to/from the warehouse.
- Assist with the routes of fellow delivery drivers who have scheduled vacation, unscheduled sick days or unexpected days off.
- Assist in the order fulfillment for assigned delivery and stock subsequent routes, this may require computer literacy and being able to navigate standard computer software programs.
- Assist warehouse workers in the stocking of products from suppliers/vendors to ensure an orderly, safe, and clean warehouse environment.
Experience
Requirements:
- Proficiency in business operations (i.e. Bachelor of Science in Business); experience in marketing or merchandising.
- Previous vending machine or retail store knowledge; but not necessary
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic Computer Skills; Proficient in computer software, handheld devices or willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is a plus.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
