Position Overview: Green Lake Conference Center (GLCC) is seeking a Dining Room Waitstaff Team Member to serve as a front-line representative for the Dining Services Team. This role is responsible for ensuring a high standard of hospitality by providing excellent food service in a professional, friendly, and welcoming manner. This role is essential in ensuring a clean, welcoming, and well-maintained dining environment while assisting guests as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Engagement: Greet guests promptly and help those with young children, elderly individuals, guests with disabilities, and others needing support through the cleaning of tables.
- Table & Bussing Duties: Clear and reset dining tables efficiently while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor. Sweep or vacuum dining room floors, maintaining a clean and safe environment. Wash, dry, fold, and store kitchen and dining room linens, including rags and aprons.
- Sanitation & Cleanliness: Follow all sanitation and food safety guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Dining Team to monitor food production and ensure an efficient flow of service.
- Equipment Maintenance Reporting: Identify and report any maintenance needs for Dining Services equipment to ensure reliable operation and to minimize downtime.
- Work Area Organization: Maintain clean, orderly, and well-organized areas to enhance workflow efficiency and ensure easy access to supplies. Keep the dining area organized, including straightening chairs, highchairs, and cleaning entry doors/glass as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures when handling chemicals, dining items, and operating equipment, ensuring a safe environment for employees, yourself, and guests.
- Communication & Reporting: Effectively communicate with dining staff, fellow team members, and supervisors regarding any incidents, needs, or issues.
- Assisting the Dishwashing Team: Assist the dishwashing team by putting away clean dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the overall operations of the Dining Services department.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Alignment with GLCCs mission and values
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor, standing, bending, and walking, for extended periods.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen and dining environment.
- Exposure to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals.
- Dependable, responsible, reliable with a cooperative attitude, and a willingness to learn
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently, or part of a team, with minimal supervision.
- Prior kitchen, dining, or serving experience is preferred but not required.
Schedule & Commitment:
- Part-time position, with flexible scheduling based on organizational needs.
- Typical work hours are rotating and flexible between 7:00 AM 8:00 PM, SundaySaturday, schedule to be determined based on availability and organizational need.
Key Working Relationships
- The Dining Room Waitstaff Team Member will collaborate with all Dining Services Team Members, and other department staff members, including department directors, volunteers, work groups, and guests.
