Position Overview: Green Lake Conference Center (GLCC) is seeking a Food Service Production Team Member to join our Dining Services team. This role is responsible for all aspects of cold food preparation, maintaining quality standards, ensuring adherence to food safety, sanitation guidelines, and providing an excellent dining experience for our guests. The Food Service Production Team Member will primarily focus on pantry-style food production, including salads, cold cuts, sandwiches, and other kitchen production as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cold Food Production: Prepare and assemble cold food items, such as salads, sandwiches, and cold platters, following established recipes and procedures. Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Other Food Production: Prepare and plate hot foods as needed by following established recipes and procedures, ensuring food quality and consistency. Accurately estimate and prepare the right quantity of food to meet guest demand.
- Guest Engagement: Be knowledgeable about dietary needs and respond to guest inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Food Safety, Sanitation, & Cleanliness: Follow all food safety guidelines, sanitation practices, and cleanliness guidelines to ensure a safe kitchen and dining environment.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures when handling chemicals, kitchen items, and operating equipment, ensuring a safe environment for employees, yourself, and guests. Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work Area Organization: Maintain clean, orderly, and well-organized areas to enhance workflow efficiency and ensure easy access to supplies. Keep the kitchen areas clean and organized.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Dining Team to monitor food production and ensure an efficient flow of service. Work collaboratively with the Dining Services Team to deliver the highest quality food for guests.
- Equipment Maintenance Reporting: Identify and report any maintenance needs for Dining Services equipment to ensure reliable operation and to minimize downtime.
- Communication & Reporting: Effectively communicate with dining staff, fellow team members, and supervisors regarding any incidents, needs, or issues.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks, as assigned, to support the overall operations of the Dining Services department.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Alignment with GLCCs mission and values.
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Prior experience in kitchen operations, cold food prep, cooking, and/or food service is required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor, standing, bending, and walking, for extended periods.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen and dining environment.
- Exposure to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals.
- Dependable, responsible, reliable with a cooperative attitude, and a willingness to learn
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently, or part of a team, with minimal supervision.
Schedule & Commitment:
- Part-time position with flexible scheduling based on organizational needs.
- Typical work hours are rotating and flexible between 5:00 AM 7:00 PM, SundaySaturday, schedule to be determined based on availability and organizational need.
Key Working Relationships
- The Food Services Production Team Member will collaborate with all Dining Services Team Members, and other department staff members, including department directors, volunteers, work groups, and guests.
