What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garden Center Manager position at Green Life Market?
Summary of Position
Manage the buying of all Garden Center items based on seasonal availability as well as the maintenance of all Garden Center products and management of Garden Center employees.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Purchasing products and materials based on seasonal availability (spring, summer, fall, winter/Christmas)
· Negotiating pricing to pass on the best deals possible to our customers
· Managing inventory of products and creating sales when appropriate
· Merchandising materials to optimize sales and sustain quality of plants and materials
· Proper maintenance of all plant materials within the Garden Center including watering, trimming, deadheading, pest treatment, etc.
· Providing excellent customer service to every customer
· Managing all Garden Center employees including their schedules and daily tasks / projects
· Providing proper training and education to all Garden Center employees about handling and maintenance of plants and materials
Qualifications
· Knowledge of plant material including annuals, perennials, shrubs, house plants, trees, etc
· Knowledge in natural pesticides and herbicides
· Management experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
