Financial Reporting Accountant

The Financial Reporting Accountant assists with quarterly and annual external reporting, financial analysis, and data validation, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. The position offers exposure to various departments, providing a broad understanding of business functions. The candidate will support financial disclosures, prepare variance analyses, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX internal controls. Additional responsibilities include coordinating global financial information, developing accounting policies, supporting audits, and working on special accounting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing financial disclosures and footnotes for external reporting.
• Develop supporting documentation for quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Prepare variance analysis in Excel, analyzing general ledger activities and collaborating with departments.
• Coordinate global communication of financial data for quarter-end close.
• Review and follow up on information from the global team.
• Apply U.S. GAAP principles for financial analysis and prepare ad hoc reports.
• Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures for compliance.
• Maintain proper documentation and assist with SOX compliance internal controls.
• Aid in the completion of internal and external audits, preparing schedules and answering questions.
• Use general ledger systems and software tools to perform duties.
• Participate in special accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, with 2-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and advanced Excel (including Vlookups and pivot tables) is required.
• Experience with accounting ERP software is a plus.
• CPA certification is required.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
