What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipefitter position at Green Mechanical Construction?

Responsibilities of the Pipefitting Mechanic include:
- Perform physical surveys of the project sites with the superintendent to ascertain conditions.
- Complete takeoffs for projects in a timely and thorough manner.
- Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions to include scheduling, material control, and rentals.
- Assure all site personnel comply with project procedures, safety requirements, company policies and other requirements as they occur.
- Complete and submit daily reports including safety/tool box reports, preconstruction reports, weekly production report and any project specific reports.
- Conduct inspections on jobs, assure jobs are detailed to MAAMECH standards, assure jobs are ready, and participate as needed, in start-ups and coordinate as needed with contractors, engineers, subcontractors and owners
- Evaluate piping service execution for compliance to contract, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality, advising the project team of status, issues, impacts, risk, and cost influence factors on to go scope.
- Take ownership of the piping craft schedule and develop short term look ahead schedules for the crew in alignment with the execution plan.
- Review and monitor labor cost installation process.
- Coordinate material delivery, labor and inspections.
Requirements:
- 5 plus years’ experience within the piping field.
- Able to read blue prints and prepare materials lists.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated and punctual.
- Must be able to multi-task and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally.
- Must be professional in appearance and speech.
Experience with commercial or residential facilities a must.
