We are seeking an experienced housekeeper to join our team. As a housekeeper, you will be responsible for conducting multiple functions throughout assigned areas of our community. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be dedicated to serving seniors, and committed to growing with our family.
Description of Position:
The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper is to ensure that the highest degree of cleanliness is
always maintained in resident rooms and common areas of the community, in a quick, efficient, and
friendly manner.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain assigned areas of the community, including resident apartments, common areas, and offices
- Ensure that all areas are kept clean, safe, and well-maintained
- Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department
- Assist with the laundry and other housekeeping duties as needed
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and their families
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
- Ability to follow cleaning schedules and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities of the Housekeeper:
- Follows appropriate infection control techniques while cleaning and performing cleaning duties.
- Performs cleaning duties according to schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) in assigned areas such as residents’ rooms, common areas, lounges, and offices.
- Sweeps, dust, dust mops, and wet mops all floors and stairways; spot cleans and vacuums floors, rugs, carpets, and runners.
- Clean, sanitize, and polish both the lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures in the bathrooms and stock dispensers as necessary.
- Scrubs bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills.
- Dust, wash, sponge mops, sanitize, and hand shampoo furniture; dust desk and floor lamps, clean and polish glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, and windowsills.
- 7. Collects trash and refuse from work areas and places in designated pick-up areas.
- Maintains equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition and restocks supplies as needed.
- Reports any needed repairs and supply and equipment needs to the Administrator or Office Manager.
- Ensures cleaning chemicals are kept stored and locked when not in use.
- Ensures resident rooms, corridors, and common areas are odor-free.
- Ensures resident safety when in resident areas with the use of proper signage, ensuring any cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards are kept out of the way at all times, not blocking exits and in compliance with fire codes.
- Reports potentially unsafe conditions or maintenance-related issues promptly to the Supervisor.
- Follow proper user directions for all compounds and chemicals.
- Stocks cleaning cart with supplies and secure lock.
- Performs resident caregiving duties as assigned.
- May perform laundry duties as assigned.
- May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
