What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide/Prep Cook position at Green Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation?
This position is a combination of Dietary Aide and Prep Cook at our Skilled Nursing Facility in Colchester, VT.
Setting up trays and loading them on carts for delivery to residents
Stocking unit kitchens with snacks etc.
Washing dishes using dishwasher and returning them to the proper storage areas
Keep dish room, storage areas, and all carts clean
Helps maintain store room in orderly condition
Performs other kitchen cleaning duties as assigned
DUTIES :
Help the cook prepare for meals - Prepare cooking ingredients, washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meats, measuring ingredients to be used in the meal.
Prepare simple dishes such as salads, small entrees, etc...
Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food.
Preparation, cooking, and service of a variety of foods
Ability to follow recipes with little to no supervision.
Baking a variety of rolls, cookies, cakes, and pies
Working on tray line during meal service
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing of pots and pans and kitchen surfaces.
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
Perform other related work as required.
REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum one (1) year of experience cooking in health care a plus
Strong knowledge of large scale & therapeutic food prep
Must be able to do some physical work
Should be a strong team player
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Excellent customer service & communication skills
Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure.
Must be able to work every other weekend and shared holidays.
