Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Solar Installer to join our dynamic team. As a Solar Installer, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar energy systems for residential and commercial clients. Your technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to safety will be essential in ensuring the successful implementation of renewable energy solutions.
Responsibilities:
· Perform on-site assessments to determine suitable locations for solar panel installation, considering factors such as shading, orientation, and structural integrity.
· Install, assemble, and secure solar panels, inverters, racking systems, and electrical components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
· Collaborate with team members to safely and efficiently complete solar installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
· Run and connect wiring to solar panels, inverters, and electrical systems, following established wiring diagrams and safety guidelines.
· Test and commission solar systems to ensure proper functionality, performance, and safety standards.
· Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with solar installations, identifying and resolving technical problems promptly.
· Maintain accurate records of work performed, including equipment used, time spent, and any changes made during installations.
· Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, mitigating potential risks and hazards associated with working at heights and with electrical components.
· Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, explaining system operation, and offering maintenance recommendations.
· Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to solar energy systems.
· Assist in training and mentoring junior team members, sharing your knowledge and experience to enhance the overall skill set of the team.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in solar energy or related fields is a plus.
· Previous experience as a Solar Installer or in a similar role within the renewable energy industry is highly desirable.
· Strong understanding of electrical and wiring systems, with the ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams.
· Familiarity with various types of solar panels, inverters, racking systems, and related components.
· Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in solar installations.
· Ability to work comfortably outdoors at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
· Effective communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and supervisors.
· Commitment to workplace safety and the ability to follow safety protocols rigorously.
· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
· Relevant certifications such as NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) or state-specific solar installation certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds) and work on ladders or elevated platforms.
· Stamina to perform physical tasks consistently throughout the workday.
