Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at GreenPower Motor Company. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing parts and material installation and assembly tasks per written and verbal work instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and Assembly: Perform installations and assembles parts according to special written work instructions, routings, blueprints, and verbal directives.
- Maintenance and Cleaning: Clean, assemble, disassemble, and replace parts as required, maintaining a clean and safe working environment and optimizing space utilization.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers, operating and maintaining shop equipment, and following quality service standards and procedures.
- Work Status and Progress: Keep production supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED, one year of related experience, and good organizational and time management skills.
- Skills and Knowledge: Reading and basic math skills, ability to understand verbal and written work instructions, and knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and crawling, with frequent use of hand tools and materials.
Work Environment
- Exposure to Noise: Exposure to high levels of noise, with the use of safety equipment to include eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats.
- Driving and Outdoor Work: Required to drive and may at times work outdoors, with loose fitting clothes and jewelry not permitted.
