Job Title: Solar Inspection Technician
Job Overview:
The Solar Inspection Technician sits inspections with inspectors. This position requires you to travel upwards of 3 hours to sit an inspection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sitting site inspections with inspectors: Perform visual and operational inspections of PV systems to verify they meet industry standards, local and national codes, and safety regulations.
- Documentation: Record inspection findings, prepare detailed reports, document any issues or faults, and recommend corrective actions.
- Data Logging and Analysis: Track system performance over time, log data, from inspections, and analyze trends to predict and prevent potential issues.
- Basic labor: When not sitting inspections you will go to sites with crews or work with a service team.
- Collaboration with Operations: Work closely with inspectors, installation teams, service teams and electricians when not sitting inspections.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with solar PV systems helpful but not required.
- Safety Training: Knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations helpful but not required.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication discussing inspection findings with operations team.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to work outdoors, climb ladders, and sometimes work on rooftops for inspections.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
- Experience in solar PV installation, maintenance, or electrical systems is an advantage but not necessary.
- Entry Level position
- Driver’s license required
Work Environment:
- Mostly fieldwork, often in outdoor settings on rooftops, construction sites, or remote locations.
- May involve exposure to varying weather conditions and working at heights.
Expected Salary Range:
$18-$21/hr
