ABOUT THE COLLEGE:
Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, learning English as a second language, and Continuing
Education students. Green River’s service areas are increasingly ethnically diverse, comprising African Americans, African immigrants, Asian Americans, Asians, Latinos/as, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Middle Eastern Americans, among other communities.

DIVISION/DEPARTMENT STATEMENT:

MINIMUM Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in the biological sciences with demonstrated excellence in teaching majors and non-majors biology.
  • One year of experience teaching college level biology courses (lecture and laboratory) as the instructor of record.
PREFERRED Qualifications: 
  • Course work in Anatomy & Physiology and/or ability to teach microbiology.
  • One year or more additional instructional experience in college settings. 
  • Familiarity and willingness to teach with different teaching modalities including online, hybrid, with an emphasis on face-to-face teaching.
  • Demonstratedcommitmenttocontinueddevelopmentofsuccessfulteachingstrategies.
  • Ability to be flexible to the department’s needs in schedule and location. Classes could include occasional night or branch campus offerings.
