What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Nurse I or II position at Green River District Health Department?
The Green River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Public Health Nurse I or Public Health Nurse II workingwith parentsin our H.A.N.D.S program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing basic entry-level nursing functions and services to individuals and families under supervision and direction of HANDS (Health Access Nurturing Development Services) in a community setting. The nurse in this classification would receive job specific training (mentorship) in the requirements and scope of practice of the various assigned health department programs and services. Job duties and responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the Kentucky Board of Nursing Practice Act, the Kentucky Department for Public Health mission, goals and essential services, the Kentucky Clinical Services Guide (CSG) and other relevant federal, state and local guidelines. This position has HANDS training and has the ability to perform professional visits and curriculum family support worker (FSW) visits. Performs other duties as assigned.
NOTE: Applicant’s work location will be based on where they live in accordance with our health centers located in Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union and Webster counties.
Minimum qualifications for Public Health Nurse I: Must have a current RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as a Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA).
Compensation: $20.30 - $25.24/hr., salary may be negotiable according to merit system guidelines.
Minimum qualifications for Public Health Nurse II: Must have a current RN license in Kentucky or compact state and one (1) year of nursing (RN) experience. BSN may substitute for the one (1) year of experience.
Compensation: $21.52 - $26.75/hr., salary may be negotiable according to merit system guidelines.
