Job Description
Our production manager, under the direction of a Supervisor, is responsible for the scheduling of all contracted work, quality control enforcement on maintenance and Installation clients' accounts, and keeping the service teams wildly efficient. This position will be both in an office setting, checking on the quality of service in the field and working on a crew when needed. The small details of every aspect are what makes this role so very important to the GSU team. Below are the three major roles and their parts for this position:
- Scheduling
- Scheduling all maintenance contracted work including pruning daily. This would include forecasting and planning seasonal tasks 3 weeks in advance. (aeration & overseeding)
- Communicate with clients, if need be, for scheduling…what is needed in addition to the automated service reminders.
- Make sure notes are updated and corrected for all jobs to ensure jobs are done correctly!
- Scheduling Install Crews, ordering materials.
- Quality Control
- Daily visits to sites to review quality and fill out reports.
- Record infractions and make crews aware of concerns.
- Detailed eye to catch quality concerns before the client does.
- Working with teams to show best practices and desired outcomes.
- Team management
- Safety
- Issue/Re-issue any needed PPE.
- Ensure all safety equipment is functional on equipment.
- Training leader to ensure safe practices while using the equipment.
- Equipment management
- Keep equipment usable…ensure it gets repaired quickly.
- Help crews with any equipment needs.
- Manage sharpening and changing of blades in season.
- Morning role out
- Last-minute crew shifts
- Have round-up, mix oil, weed eater string, and other materials available.
- Lock/Unlock gas pumps.
- Keep a pulse on needed materials and make the account manager aware.
- Fill out timesheets to be reviewed during the weekly leadership meeting.
- Managing crew timelines at the end of the day.
- Uniform management and enforcement.
- Make yourself available at the shop location for conversation at the end of the day.
