Job Title: Procurement Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Manager to join our team. The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's purchasing activities, ensuring the procurement of high-quality goods and services at the best possible prices. This role involves developing procurement strategies that align with the company’s goals, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and managing vendor relationships to maintain a consistent supply chain. The Procurement Manager will analyze market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities, monitor inventory levels, and coordinate with various departments to forecast future procurement needs. Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of supply chain management and procurement best practices. The ideal candidate will contribute to cost-saving initiatives while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to inform purchasing decisions.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve the most favorable terms for the organization.
- Monitor inventory and order levels to optimize stock management and reduce excess.
- Lead and mentor the procurement & inventory team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills.
- Prepare and manage the procurement budget, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Finance, Operations, and Quality Assurance to support organizational needs.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Create bill of materials and perform maintenance & revisions.
- Identifies part number issues and creates new part numbers as needed.
- Initiates new vendor setup with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Vendor
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement, inventory management, or related field.
- Strong understanding of inventory systems and practices (NetSuite experience a plus).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.
- Ability to perform research and identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and other relevant software.
- Knowledge of quality control practices and handling of damaged goods.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the warehouse as necessary to perform job duties.
