Tree Climber Technician / Arborist Trainee
Job Type: Full-time- 40 hours per week with occasional opportunities for overtime.
Hourly: Varies based on experience
Summary: A Tree Climber oversees and works with a crew to trim trees of all sizes with correct pruning cuts and industry standards.
Reports to: Crew Leader - Tree Crew
Responsibilities:
- Works with a Tree Crew to prune trees and remove trees of all sizes efficiently and safely.
- Responsible for quality control on trees, including ensuring proper pruning cuts, following proper safety standards, and proper training.
- Responsible for meeting daily route/project requirements of Green Summit Contracts and other work that is sold.
- Works with a team of 2-4 people.
- Responsible for safe operation of all equipment required to complete the work on any given workday.
- Meet with Client Relationship Manager on sites when needed.
- Trains with crews weekly to meet Green Summit’s quality and operational standards.

Operational Skills:
Operate most small engine equipment used on a daily basis, including but not limited to Chain Saw, Hedge Trimmer, and Skid Steer and bucket truck. Ability to drive a ¾ ton truck, or bigger, with a 18’ trailer hauling equipment. Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. Most importantly, this employee must have tree climbing skills or be willing and able to learn how to safely and efficiently climb trees to prune them.
