Position Summary: Green Township is seeking a Director of Finance to perform all financial functions for the Township. This individual must provide information to the Administrator and Elected Officials and plan, direct, manage and oversee all financial activities and operations in the Finance Department. This requires cooperation and coordination with the department heads in all future projects. Internal controls must be must be followed for the safe keeping of cash and assets of the Township. This individual must be detail-orientated and practice good organizational and analytical skills.
Position Responsibilities: The Director of Finance serves as Green Township’s Chief Administrative Financial Officer, managing financial issues, budgeting, auditing, tax and revenue collection, and all accounting functions for the Township in accordance to the rules of the Ohio Revised Code and Township Policy. Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs activities of the financial division. Is responsible for fiscal policies and procedures, all computer functions used in the financial operations and all financial data pertaining to the Township. Is a member of the Senior Administrative Team which includes the Administrator and all Department Directors.
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. Prefer a Master’s Degree and/or CPA. Experience of 5 years in a supervisory role within Financial area. Governmental accounting experience a plus. Strong communication skills, and ability to work independently as well as collaborate. Experience in Budgeting and cash projections. Exposure with IT implementation and management. Experience with banking and advisor relations and work cooperatively with auditors. Understanding of limitations to government investing of public funds.
