Mixologist/Head Bartender
Position Overview:
Green Tree Country Club is seeking a talented and experienced Mixologist / Head Bartender to lead our bar program and provide an exceptional beverage experience for our members and guests. This role requires a creative and knowledgeable professional who excels in crafting high-quality cocktails, managing bar operations, and delivering outstanding service in a private club setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Beverage Program & Mixology:
- Design and execute an innovative, seasonal cocktail menu tailored to the preferences of our members.
- Maintain a deep knowledge of classic and modern mixology techniques, craft cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits.
- Ensure consistency and quality in beverage preparation, presentation, and taste.
- Stay updated on industry trends, incorporating new techniques and ingredients into the club’s beverage offerings.
Operations & Leadership:
- Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage bar inventory, ordering, and stocking to maintain optimal levels while controlling costs.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of all beverage products.
- Maintain compliance with liquor laws, club policies, and responsible alcohol service.
- Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Director on special events, wine dinners, and themed cocktail experiences.
Member & Guest Experience:
- Provide personalized service to club members, developing strong relationships and remembering individual preferences.
- Train and mentor bar staff to ensure high standards of hospitality, product knowledge, and service.
- Engage with members by recommending drinks, explaining flavor profiles, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Handle member feedback professionally, ensuring prompt resolution of concerns.
Team Management & Training:
- Lead and inspire a team of bartenders and barbacks, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Conduct regular training on beverage preparation, service techniques, and safety standards.
- Assist with scheduling to ensure optimal coverage for bar operations and events.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of bartending experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mixology role.
- Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.
- Certified in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol).
- Experience in a private club, fine dining, or high-end hospitality environment is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
