What DOES A DRIVER DO?

Deliver Green Valley's wholesale product to customer sites in a timely manner maintaining our excellent customer service standards

Ensure that the product transported remains in the same condition in which it was loaded

Assist in loading and unloading the product from truck.

Obtain signatures from customers and handle relevant paperwork and records for deliveries

Obey all traffic laws and report any violations to the routing office

Maintain contact with the routing office which includes relaying information about the status of, or changes in the delivery schedule as necessary

Report any mechanical problems or damage encountered with vehicles or other company property

Condense product as sales occur, remove empty carts to maintain an organized space, and restock displays with full carts of fresh plants

Communicate daily with store personnel, collaborating to enhance sales and customer satisfaction

The beginning of the delivery season is usually mid to late March and extends to early June. Typical work hours are 7 : 30 am - 4 : 00 pm and our hours will be extended during peak times.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS DRIVER JOB

To thrive as a Full Time Delivery Driver / Merchandiser at Green Valley Greenhouse, you will need

A valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no major infractions

Physical stamina and strength as this role involves frequent lifting up to 40 pounds

To be at least 19 years of age

Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with store personnel and understand customer needs.

Drivers will also be required to work in the greenhouse during non-delivery times. Some duties in the greenhouse may include standing at a conveyor belt planting plants, hand-watering plants, loading plants onto carts at a fast pace to fulfill customer orders, moving and spacing plants for optimal growth, cleaning carts, sweeping, and a vast array of cleaning and organizational projects around the greenhouse. Tolerance for performing repetitive motions as well as the ability to work on conveyor belts that are in motion is essential.

If applying for a driver position, Green Valley will run a Motor Vehicle Record using your active driver's license at time of interview. This report will list any accidents or violations of motor vehicle law during the last 3 years. Any major violation (DUI, Reckless Diving, Leaving the scene of an accident, etc.) or combination of multiple violations will preclude the candidate from driving for Green Valley until 3 years after the incident.
