Job Title:

• Sales Associate - 21 Years of Age Required
• Assistant Store Manager - 21 Years of Age Required

Sales Associate Starting Rate: $13.00/hour

Automatic increase to: $13.50/hour at 90 days

Automatic increase to: $14.00/hour at 6 months

Position: Sales Associate - 21 Years of Age or Older Required

Primary Function: Deliver best-in-class customer satisfaction through greetings and answering questions, accurate and timely transaction processing, stocking shelves and coolers, product knowledge and recommendations, food preparation and service, sales optimization, store appearance (internal and external), cleaning, safety, security, loss prevention, inventory, and teamwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Participate in new-hire and ongoing training across all areas of Store operations, compliance, and quality improvement.

· Deliver best-in-class customer satisfaction, as part of a high energy team, and at times independently (after initial training).

· Accurate and timely transaction processing across all product lines, using POS systems and technology, and wrapping/bagging purchases.

· Stock shelves and coolers and monitor reserve inventory to ensure high quality presentation and availability for customers.

· Maintain up to date knowledge of all products and services, and related compliance policies and procedures.

· Prepare and serve a range of food service menu items, ensuring food safety and compliance across all food handling procedures, clean and maintain food service areas and equipment, and monitor hygienic food storage and supply levels.

· Promote effective customer relations and high levels of satisfaction to optimize sales, applying GVGBEST practices.

· Maintain a clean and attractive store, both inside and out, including vigilance for safety, security, and loss prevention.

· Monitor, count, record, unpack and store reserve inventory.

· Actively engage in team efforts to support other team members and receive assistance across all responsibilities, sharing opportunities for skills development, coordination of priorities, and driving quality and performance improvement.

· Learn and comply with all Company policies and procedures, as well as Federal, State, and Municipal laws.

· Communicate and engage effectively with other team members and customers in the English language and contribute proactively towards a positive high performance safe and secure workplace.

· Maintain up to date awareness of all merchandise promotions, test merchandise, and advertisements.

· Set up advertising, promotional displays, and arrange merchandise to promote sales.

· Answer customers’ questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise or services.

· Learn and utilize Company selling guidelines to increase sales and customer satisfaction.

· Accurately receive merchandise deliveries from vendors and complete all associated inventory management procedures.

· Remain up to date and support all policy, change, system, and procedure updates regarding the function of the business.

· Learn and comply with Company and Operational safety and security policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.

· Secure all funds in the Store safe or register. Make timely drops and maintain cash-drawers at or below maximum level in accordance with Company policies.

· Other duties as assigned by Management.

Essential Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds, 4 feet high; and 20 pounds, 5 feet high, without the aid of another person.

· Must be able to sit/stand up for up to a full shift.

· Must be able to work unaccompanied, standing, and without defined break periods. Occasionally working extended shifts of over 8 hours or more, as necessary.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

· Must be able to work with minimum supervision and perform essential duties and responsibilities in an environment that will sometimes include increased levels or work-related stress.

· Must have the ability to communicate with associates and customers in the English language and maintain an amicable work relationship with fellow employees.

· Must have the ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.

· Must be able to work with grocery and merchandise products, beer/wine/liquor/tobacco products, and gaming products.

· Must be able to work around various fumes, odors, chemical agents, and solvents including petroleum products.

· Must be able to work in various temperatures and environmental conditions.

· Must be able to maintain balance and climb up to 5 feet on a ladder.

· Must be able to freely access all areas of store facilities inside and out including sales floor, gaming alcove, stocking area, storage area, walk-in coolers and freezers, register area, fuel islands, landscaping and car wash facilities.

· Must be able to operate and use all equipment necessary in the basic function of the position.

· Must be able to obtain all required work cards and certifications required within the jurisdiction in which the employee works.
