The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to maintain facility fixtures and buildings properly. This general Maintenance Technician supports our facilities with the maintenance and repair of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. General Maintenance Technicians self-perform general maintenance duties such as light plumbing, light carpentry, painting, and general occupant requests
- Technician I range at hire: $18.25-$20.88
- Technician II (Journeyman) range at hire: $19.82-$22.45
Essential Job Functions
- Complete work orders in a timely fashion and per company policy/procedure.
- Follow all company personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety policies.
- Maintain plumbing systems including drains, pipes, faucets, and fixtures for all facilities.
- Perform basic carpentry work.
- Paint and/or touch up walls, as needed.
- Monitor HVAC systems and conduct routine and/or basic maintenance as needed.
- Verify lock out/tag out procedures are followed.
- Maintain compliance with state and local OSHA, fire, and other safety regulations.
- Request needed parts, tools, and supplies.
- Complete preventive maintenance projects as assigned.

Green Valley Recreation Inc. (GVR) is a membership-based 501(c)(4) non-profit that provides a wide variety of recreation, social, and leisure opportunities to approximately 80% of households in the Green Valley, AZ area. While GVR is not age-restricted, most members are over the age of 55. GVR owns and operates fourteen recreation centers including an award-winning, 24-court pickleball center.
GVR’s mission is to provide recreational, social, and leisure education opportunities that enhance the quality of our members’ lives.
Green Valley is approximately 25 minutes south of Tucson on I-19. The community is comprised of 120 distinct Home Owner’s Associations, with housing available to fit every budget. Most HOA’s are age-restricted, requiring at least one owner to be age 55 or older, and prohibiting permanent residence of children. Family-friendly and fast-growing Sahuarita adjoins the Green Valley area on the north.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum one year of relevant work experience.
- Must maintain a valid, current driver’s license.
- Must maintain current CPR AED certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with this position.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot equipment and systems.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and/or hand-held power tools.
- Heavy equipment knowledge is helpful.
- Must be fluent in the English language.
- Ability to work varying shifts including weekends, as needed.
- Strong initiative, motivation, and self-discipline.
Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
- Must be able to perform outdoors in variable weather conditions.
- May be exposed to chemicals, gases, steam, and fumes.
- Must be able to perform with standard equipment noise.
