Produce Clerk

Green Way Markets is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Produce Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for stocking, rotating, and maintaining the produce department to ensure customers receive the freshest fruits and vegetables. This position offers an exciting opportunity for growth, with the potential to be promoted to Produce Manager within 3-6 months based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stock, rotate, and organize fresh produce to maintain quality and freshness.
• Monitor product expiration dates and remove damaged or spoiled items.
• Ensure proper labeling, pricing, and signage for all produce items.
• Assist customers by answering questions and providing product recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department.
• Receive and inspect deliveries for accuracy, quality, and freshness.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Support team members and assist in other store operations as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in retail, grocery, or food handling is a plus but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to learn and take on leadership responsibilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
