Summary:
We employ the most curious and brilliant people. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about the Mission of Greenacres and our values and will seek to advance their knowledge as a full-time Equine Mounted Educator. The Mounted Educator role is a team position and requires flexibility with schedules, programming, and minimal traveling between education sites which are currently in Milford, OH Indian Hill, OH Lewis Township, OH, and Oldenburg, IN. Your home base will be in Indian Hill, OH. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing a curriculum for mounted lessons with a focus on Eventing, unmounted lessons, after-school programming, and summer day camps. You must be willing to provide hands-on teaching experiences, collaborate across the education department, and deliver high-quality programming.
Enjoy creating and delivering mounted and unmounted educational programming that gives students an exciting and enriching experience while utilizing the equine collection as your classroom. You might be a Greenacres person.
Requirements
- Have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably English mounted lessons ranging from beginners (walk/trot) to advanced (jumping 2’-2’6”)
- Demonstrated teaching skills and a passion for working with youth using hands-on activities in small-group settings
- Ability to move and work in a natural environment (i.e. pastures and barn area) and handle horses of varying sizes throughout the Equine Center under various weather conditions
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including executives, managers, children and adults and subject matter experts
- Ability to work 40 hours a week
- Assist with basic equine husbandry as needed
- Commitment to working within a team and collaborative culture
- Maintain efficiency without direct supervision and be self-motivated.
- Ability to successfully pass a post-offer pre-employment drug test and fingerprint FBI background screen
- Ability to work with both internal and external partners with the same or very different backgrounds to ensure that all who visit Greenacres get the highest quality experience that addresses their needs
