Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our Greenacres team. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety within our organization. This includes conducting safety training, monitoring employees for compliance with safety regulations, collaborating with our Education team to ensure safety protocols for students, and managing any other safety-related tasks. This position will report directly to the Human Resources Director. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices and the ability to communicate effectively to promote a safe working and learning environment. Additionally, the ideal candidate would embrace our values and have a strong desire to work as a team through changes, concerns, challenges.
Responsibilities:
Safety Training and Education:
- Conduct and manage comprehensive safety training programs for employees.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions and workshops to ensure all employees are aware of safety procedures.
- Maintain records of training sessions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Safety Monitoring and Compliance:
- Regularly inspect work areas, machinery, and equipment to identify potential hazards.
- Manage Stay Safe application and usage procedures.
- Monitor employee adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
- Conduct incident investigations for both employees and visitors and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Develop a close working relationship and understanding of all teams for safety protocols, departmental requirements and trainings.
- Work closely with the Education team to develop and implement safety protocols for students.
- Serve as the main point of contact for safety-related incidents and concerns, including employee, student and other visitor injuries.
- Work closely with the HR Director on Workers Compensation claims, procedures, investigations, and follow up.
- Prepare and distribute safety reports and updates to management when required.
Safety Policy and Procedure Development:
- Develop, review, and update safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ensure that all safety policies are effectively communicated and enforced.
- Stay current on safety regulations, trends, and best practices.
Emergency Response and Preparedness:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Conduct regular emergency drills and exercises to ensure readiness.
- Coordinate with local emergency services and first responders.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a similar role.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field is preferred.
- Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, BWC, and other safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
- Ability to travel to all Greenacres locations regularly. Currently this includes Indian Hill, OH, Miami Township Clermont County, OH, Lewis Township, OH and Oldenburg, IN.
- May require working outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
