Summary:
The Quality Assurance Nurse needs to have a strong nursing background with great assessment skills to provide the care needed to the residents.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates the quality of patient care.
- Monitors compliance with current laws, process improvements, and implementation of clinical best practices.
- Help train staff on new or improved clinical practices.
- The position will set work schedules, delegate assignments, assign tasks and assist in evaluating employee job performance when requested by the Director of Nursing.
- QA Nurse will assist in setting goals and standards for the facility.
- Aide in supervision of the nursing department and dining rooms, as delegated.
- Weekly wound measurements and documentation
- Completing skill competencies
- Monitoring weekly/monthly weights
- Tracking immunizations
- Promote the physical and emotional well-being of skilled nursing facility residents, ensuring a coordination of quality care, from pre-admission through discharge.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with residents, resident representatives and members of the Interdisciplinary Team
- Work in collaboration with the IDT to ensure accurate and timely completion of all Medicare documents in order to maintain regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years’ experience in LTC/SNF care.
- One (1) year experience Preferred as a QA Nurse or Nurse Manager
- Must follow State and Federal Regulations
- Must have clinical experience, prior administrative experience, and training in both nursing and management.
- Must have strong communication skills, diplomacy and the ability to take leadership of any situation
- Must be able to lead and direct employees.
- Must have strong communications skills and able to talk with physicians, residents, families and outside entities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to review documentation to ensure proper care is provided to the residents you are responsible for.
