Description
The Maintenance Manager will define, plan, and lead all equipment and facilities maintenance activities. The Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems. This individual will be a high energy, self-directed, self-starter with the ability to manage and complete projects with minimal guidance and supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interface across multiple levels of the organization are a must. The ability to lead and develop a team is essential.
This position will manage 2 manufacturing plants in Clyde OH and Cleveland, OH.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote safety as the most important value in all maintenance activities.
- Direct work assignments and set priorities for a 24x7 production operations.
- Ensure effective and proactive communication of maintenance activities including:
- Preventative Maintenance completion rate
- Work order closeout rate
- Downtime root causes and suggested improvements
- Continuous improvement of Preventative Maintenance plan
- Identified machine or procedural issues
- Maintenance team cross training matrix
- Manage implementation of preventative maintenance ensuring work is completely promptly, safely, correctly.
- Implement 6S culture in maintenance and support areas.
- Ensure that all required recordkeeping is completed timely and accurately.
- Provide direct “hands on” assistance to employees as needed.
- Contribute as member of the plant leadership team to drive the plant forward in areas of safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
Employee Development & Management:
- Develop maintenance team, identify weaknesses in team members, schedule training and classes to improve weaknesses, maintain team cross training matrix, utilize matrix to have proper support on all shifts.
- Establish individual performance expectations, conduct regular employee performance reviews, and effectively coach and provide feedback to employees.
- Conduct/schedule training for maintenance staff and operators on equipment as necessary.
Experience and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school training is preferred.
- 5-7 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting required.
- 3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting required.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Working knowledge of and past maintenance experience in electrical (480V/3 phase and 120V power distribution systems), mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems (including automation control, AC and DC drive systems, mechanical drives and systems, PLCs, sensors, and motor controls) and facilities systems .
- Electrical and PLC programming.
- Working knowledge and past experience with LOTO, confined space entry, OSHA requirements.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, MS Project, CAD software) & CMMS software (JD Edwards).
- Strong team building and conflict resolution skills.
- Working knowledge and previous experience of Lean, Six Sigma, and Total Predictive Maintenance.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
- Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
