Summary
The Operator Assistant assists the Production Operators with operating and testing equipment used to manufacture railcar parts, facilitating machines running properly with less down time.
Duties And Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Cleans and removes debris and buildup from equipment parts
- Pulls, counts, and stacks parts for efficiency
- Operates a forklift or hook and hitch to overhead crane to move material
- Uses hand tools such as scrapers, grinders, and others specified for the work order
- Ensures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to keep accurate records
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, at all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months experience working with various manufacturing equipment
