Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at a busy veterinary clinic. This role involves a variety of tasks that ensure the well-being of animals while assisting in clinical procedures.
Duties
- Provide excellent care for animals by monitoring their health and well-being.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Perform animal catheterization and maintain aseptic techniques during procedures.
- Restrain animals safely and effectively for examinations and treatments.
- Handle dogs and other pets with care, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness in the clinic by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and work areas.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and health maintenance.
- Assist with laboratory tests, including blood draws and sample collection.
- Support the veterinary team in managing inventory and supplies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures, including animal restraint techniques.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
- Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
