Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary practice. This role requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal care, as well as the ability to handle various administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date.
- Process payments and handle billing inquiries with professionalism.
- Assist veterinary staff with patient intake and discharge procedures.
- Provide information to clients about animal husbandry, care, and wellness.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Handle any client concerns or complaints with empathy and resolution-focused communication.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy.
- Experience in kennel or dog handling preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in using office equipment and software for scheduling and record keeping.
- A genuine passion for animal care and welfare, demonstrating empathy towards pets and their owners.
- Understanding of veterinary critical care practices is beneficial.
