The Assessment Service Coordinator is a professional person appointed to manage assessment services for youth at theGreene County Juvenile Court Assessment and Intervention Center in Xenia, Ohio. The Assessment Service Coordinatorhas primary responsibility to collaborate with the Assessment and Intervention Assessment Team regarding the delivery ofassessments, caseload management and determination of individual, group and family services while promoting the goals,objectives and mission of the organization. The Assessment Service Coordinator is an unclassified employee appointed byand serves at the pleasure of the Greene County Juvenile Court Judge under the provisions of 2151.13 and 2152.42 of theOhio Revised Code.Work schedule is flexible except that the employee is required to be present at the Assessment and Intervention Center or Juvenile Justice Complex, primarily during core times (Monday-Friday, 8am-8pm). Field visits are not a core function of the position except in special circumstances and in relation to a safety plan. On call status outside of core hours is possible; full-time (35 hours per one-week pay period). Variable shifts may be required. The Assessment Service Coordinator is classified as a non-essential worker and is not required to report to work during inclement weather and other emergencies. Full-time position is FSLA: Non-Exempt.Unclassified position.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Assessment: Screen referrals pursuant to criteria; facilitate receiving and processing of youth into and out of theprogram and/or facility; interview court personnel, law enforcement and other social services professionals;interview youth; interview parent or legal guardian; administer risk, need and responsivity assessments, includingbut not limited to Ohio Youth Assessment System (OYAS), mental health screening, family needs assessments andhuman trafficking assessment; function as OYAS Administrator; track administration of assessments; present casereview weekly to inter-disciplinary Assessment Team.2. Case Management: Create case plans for families based on recommendations of Assessment Team; follow andcommunicate with families at specific intervals (one week, 30 days, 45 days and 60 days) while maintaining a datatracking system.3. Records/Reports: Function as primary manager of facility case records; track and manage case-load; maintain casefiles and confidentiality of records in accordance with applicable law; maintain availability of assessmentinstruments; monitor progress; maintain contact list of community resources; maintain Assessment Team MeetingMinutes; enter data into agency software programs; generate additional reports, as needed.4. Public Relations: Promote the program and consult with professionals including, but not limited to, court officials,mental health practitioners, social services workers, medical personnel, university personnel, parents/guardians,students, case workers, school officials, law enforcement, attend court hearings; serve as court representative atFamily and Children First Cluster Meetings; participate in agency interview and staff selection process; conductagency tours, as needed.5. Meetings/Committees: Assessment Team Meetings; Program Review Meetings; Family and Children First ClusterMeetings; other meetings and committees, as needed.6. Quality Assurance: Conduct, track and analyze program data; provide analysis to inform establishment of annualdelivery goals; engage in program development; including writing policies and procedures; support developmentand delivery of staff training; ensure safety and hygiene of work environment; assist with program monitoring ythe Ohio Department of Youth Services, including site reviews and annual audits.7. Program Delivery: Ensure compliance with program rules, policies and procedures; intervene and direct crisisintervention pursuant to policy and CAPI training; assist in Intervention Center programming, includingtransportation as needed; provide staff training; provide consultation and support regarding documentation; develop and revise policy and procedures, including program descriptions.8. Support Functions: Research; policy review; special projects.

WORK CONDITIONS (Examples may not be comprehensive): The Assessment and Intervention Center is a low security office and group activity setting for male and female youth ages 12-18. Youth interactions may occur with youth under the age of 12. The population consists of at-risk, emotionally disturbed and/or potentially violent youth. There is a potential for exposure to communicable diseases and/or parasites. All workers are mandated reporters required to report harassment, abuse and/or neglect pursuant to established policy and procedure. Work is to be conducted at times in a fast-paced environment involving deadlines.Routine physical requirements include reaching, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, writing/keyboarding, talking, seeing, driving and repetitive motions. Tasks minimally required exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Additional physical requirements may include self-defense maneuvers pursuant to crisis prevention training and/or exertion resulting from first aid/CPR/AED interventions.TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT (Examples may not be comprehensive): Orientation training in policies, procedures and practices with additional training annually. Required training includes but is not limited to: CPR/1st Aid/AED certification; non-violent crisis intervention certification; Greene County Risk Management training (including Fire Safety and Prevention, Hazard Communication and Defensive Driving); Ohio Youth Assessment System (OYAS); Greene County Personnel Handbook.
