Incumbents are responsible for grounds maintenance of County parks and facilities, bike paths, trails, lakes, and surrounding facilities. Duties include: mowing, weeding, and planting grass; trimming trees and bushes; planting flowers; spraying for weeds; clearing brush away from bike paths and other areas; removing trash from site; adding or repairing items on site; installing and/or repairing playground equipment, cabinets, and platforms; preparing park signs by routing, sanding, and painting; washing and cleaning vehicles, tools, and equipment; opening, closing, locking, and unlocking facilities; assisting in setting up and taking down equipment for park programs; and greeting public and answering questions when needed.HOURS OF WORK: Intermittent - Hours are up to 40 hours/week, Wednesday - Sunday for months April - November; schedule may include weeknights and holidays and/or as needed by the activities and services provided by the department. Budgeted not to exceed 650 hours per year. CLASSIFICATION STATUS: This position is unclassified under ORC 124.11(A)(29). An unclassified employee is not included in the classified service, is exempt from all required examinations and serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority. Posted until filled.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
(These duties are illustrative only. Incumbents may perform some or all of these duties or other job-related duties as assigned.)Prepares facilities at the park and campground for other divisions of the department, the County and the general for public activities and rentals including cleaning the bathrooms and showers daily or as needed to maintain facilities in a usable and sanitary condition; setting up and taking down equipment; and open/close, lock/unlock the facilities.Performs grounds maintenance duties at Caesar Ford Park and campground including but not limited to lawn/turf care (mowing, trimming, fertilizing, weed control, etc.), landscaping, tree care/removal, picking up litter/trash and emptying trash cans.Greet the public and answers questions when needed in regards to the rules and regulations at the campground and facilities.Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.
