The full performance level class works under general supervision & requires considerable knowledge of maintenance repair in order to perform semi-skilled & skilled maintenance repair work.Normal Working Hours: Monday - Friday; 7:00am - 3:30pm. On call rotation.Posted until filled.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Maintains, repairs, demolishes, renovates and winterizes buildings by performing skilled carpentry work and performs routine and non-routine skill trade tasks. Determines the correct tools and materials to use; orders safety supplies. Reads & interprets blueprints, manuals & building codes. Finishes and refinishes wood furniture and products; stains and varnishes wood products; determining types of wood, laminate and stain, selecting color to use and how many coats to apply; delivers and installs finished projects to departments. Maintains fixtures including repairing/replacing windows, doors and acoustical ceilings. Designs and draws plans for workstations, cabinetry and other projects. Removes old carpet, wood flooring and tile; re-installs new carpet, tile, laminate and wood flooring in County buildings. Removes walls, hangs and finishes drywall. Obtains cost estimates and price information for specific projects. Responsible for operating equipment such as trade tools and equipment (i.e., hand and power tools, table saws, forklifts, bobcats, tractors).Performs others duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Predictable and regular attendance is required.Travel may be required.May be called in; may be exposed to high & low temperatures; may be exposed to weather. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, intense noises, and travel.Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, driving, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.
