Part-Time Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf
Salary Range: $56,103 to $78,066 prorated, dependent on educational experience and areas of expertise.

Date available: 2025-26 School Year
Days: 3-5 days per week
General Description: Provides supplemental aids and services necessary to enable students who are hearing impaired to progress in the general curriculum and advance appropriately toward attaining annual IEP goals.

General Description: Provides supplemental aids and services necessary to enable students who are hearing impaired to progress in the general curriculum and advance appropriately toward attaining annual IEP goals.
Qualifications:
- Ohio Department of Education Teacher’s Certification/Licensure in Hearing Impaired/Deaf and/or Speech Pathology/Deaf Studies
- Training and/or experience in teaching children/youth who are hearing impaired and in working effectively with educators and families.
- Demonstrates basic sign skills expressively and receptively (conversational) and/or advancing towards sign proficiency.
- Responsible for direct instruction, co-teaching, supplementing or modifying classroom materials, reviewing pre and post teaching of content materials as determined by student needs or the needs of regular education teacher, within the classroom and/or small group instruction.
- Attend IEP meetings and serves as a team member, assisting in the development of IEPs, including the writing of appropriate goals and objectives for student who are hearing impaired.
- Provides input into the selection of a caseload of children.
- Provides specialized instruction and consultation services as specified on IEPs to student ho are hearing impaired and are being educated in regular education classrooms.
- Provides consultation as specified in their IEPs, for students who are hearing impaired and are being educated in special education settings.
- Serves as a resource person for teachers regarding classroom management techniques, teaching methodologies, appropriate instructional materials and social adjustment of children who are hearing impaired and modifies curriculum or assists teachers in modifying curriculum/classroom materials for children on caseload.
- Teams effectively with families and district personnel, including teachers and speech pathologists to meet the academic and communicative needs of the students on caseload.
