What are the responsibilities and job description for the HIM Clerk position at GREENE COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER?
- Full-time position (80 hours/2-week pay period)
- Benefits eligible, PTO, IPERS
- Monday-Friday
- Compile, process, and maintain medical records of hospital and clinic patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the healthcare system.
- Process, maintain, compile, and report patient information for health requirements and standards.
- Clerical duties may be assigned in accordance with the office procedures of the medical center and may include a combination of greeting patients, answering telephones, record keeping, word processing, office machine operation, ROI, census, work queues, scanning, and filing.
- Helps maintain the master patient index.
- Plans, develops, maintains and operates a variety of health record indexes and storage and retrieval systems to collect, classify, store and analyze information.
- Preferred: Associate degree (two-year college or technical school)
- Required: two to four years related experience
- Required: Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office products
