Occasional contact with medical professionals may be necessary.

- Meet and instruct students at designated locations and times.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment that promotes effective learning within system-provided resources.
- Prepare for assigned classes and demonstrate evidence of preparation upon request.
- Encourage students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior.
- Provide instructional skills, knowledge of child growth and development, and use of materials and resources consistent with the adopted curriculum.
- Demonstrate mastery of content area and take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
- Maintain records as required by law, system policy, and administrative regulations.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules and administrative regulations.
- Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes within contractual commitments.
- Attend and participate in faculty and department meetings.
- Cooperate with staff members in planning instructional goals and objectives.
- Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
Requirements:
- Candidates must possess or qualify for licensure with the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
