What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Facilities and Plant Operations position at Greene County Schools?
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examines school building on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenance.
- Works with the director of schools and principals to determine, assess, prioritize, and estimate costs of capital outlay projects.
- Assists the director of schools in developing specifications and securing bids for capital outlay projects, major maintenance and equipment purchases.
- Ensures all buildings comply with all local, state, and federal codes, including handicapped and OSHA.
- Develops and maintains a Facility Management Plan for all system facilities.
- Supervises and assigns daily tasks for all maintenance personnel; provides general supervision for all custodial staff.
- Orders materials as needed from reliable vendors.
- Screens recruits recommended for hiring, and trains all personnel necessary to the maintenance program.
- Assigns maintenance personnel to do preventive maintenance when possible.
- Responsible for sewer reports and obtaining sewer permits from the state.
- On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the director of schools.
