REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Schools
SUPERVISES: 3-5 Teachers as assigned, Federal Programs
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are normal for this position; however, the duties and responsibilities listed are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Director of Schools.
1.
Assists in the development and implementation of district-wide, grade level or subject matter professional development and consults with principals in the development and implementation of school-based professional development
2. Assists in the evaluation of teachers, according to Board policy and state requirements
3. Provides suggestions and recommendations to the Central Office Leadership Team and school administrators in planning professional development opportunities based on individual growth plans for teachers and system level needs based on assessment data

Provides leadership and assists in planning and conducting team meetings related to curriculum and instruction
5.
Provides guidance and assistance in the selection, utilization and maintenance of textbooks and other instructional material
6.
Conducts pre-service and professional development programs for teachers within assigned areas
7.
Performs observations and consults with principals on evaluations of teachers within assigned area
8.
Stays abreast of current research and effective teaching and learning strategies and disseminates information to staff
9.
Coordinates, monitors, and evaluates for excellence in the instructional program
10.
Performs, compiles and analyzes needs assessment related to instruction
11.
Participates in S-Team, IEP-Team meetings and collaboration meetings as requested
12.
Assists schools with preparation of school improvement plans to align with federal spending
13.
Stays informed of current trends and practices in curriculum, instruction and assessment and disseminates information and materials to faculty and staff within assigned area
14.
Works collaboratively with other supervisors to plan special events such as Spelling Bee, Round Robin and other event as assigned by the Director or assistant Director of Schools
15.
Maintains required documentation for assigned Title I, Homeless, Migrant, and English Language Learners
16.
Assists with distribution and compiling results of testing within assigned areas and utilizing results for curriculum improvement
17.
Assists with various diagnostic screenings as required in the assigned area
18.
Monitors, assists, evaluates, and coordinates the implementation, effectiveness, and improvement for instructional programs and federal spending
19.
Assists in collection and compiling of needs assessment information as required by various programs
20.
Compiles and maintains records and reports required for program compliance
21.
Prepares and administers budgets for assigned areas
22.
Attends parent/teacher conferences or meetings with parents as requested by the principal, teacher, or parent and will be available on all scheduled conference days
23.
Assumes responsibility for completing and filing grant applications for designated areas
24.
Assists in the interviewing, screening, and recommending of qualified candidates for assigned area
25.
Supervises and monitors compliance with Parent Involvement requirements
26.
Performs other duties as assigned
