Job Duties:
- Assist in the responsibility for planning, developing and administering the Parent Involvement area ensuring an integrated and comprehension system of parent engagement activities for families including implementing a program for fathers and Hispanic families. Assure parent activities occur throughout the agency.
- Responsible for assisting the oversight and monitoring, tracking, follow-up and analysis of the area. Ensures on-going monitoring, tracking, follow-up and analysis of the Parent Involvement and Governance areas. Uses agency’s data base system to extract reports, as a tool for monitoring areas.
- Assists in maintaining record keeping and reporting systems, including services area plan, schedules, timelines, policies and procedures for the area in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist in the responsibility for managing and supervising the system of shared decision making through the implementation of the parent committee meetings and Governance protocol and integrating the entire set of Head Start Performance Standards as each applies.
- Responsible for planning and conducting parent meetings and submitting the written information.
- Monitors area activities and arranges and negotiates workshop presenters.
- Assists in the preparing and submitting monthly progress report and other reports as designated.
- Responsible to compile and submit monthly program information reports for the areas. Collect, aggregate and analyze data for OHS and other required reports.
- Provide guidance and support for site level parent committee projects and activities.
- Develop ongoing monitoring protocols to ensure compliance with Family/Parent and Community Engagement Framework.
- Develops and implements a plan for the selection of Policy Council members, arranges meetings and packets for the Policy Council, and ensures that all representatives have been notified including transportation for parents. Support Policy Council representatives and parent committee officers in their roles and encourage acquisition of leadership roles within the program and community.
- Assists in monitoring area budgets (i.e. non-federal, adult food, parent resources, parent activities, etc.) and meets with appropriate staff for input on annual plan and budgets.
- Assists with the procurement, inventory and disbursement of area resources, parent appreciation and parent store.
- Assesses training needs of parents and plans training opportunities for parents; based on needs assessments and parent requests.
- Develops, plans and implements training for volunteers, parent officers, and Policy Council representatives.
- Monitors and oversees volunteers for the program, including plans and work schedules for volunteers. Assists with collecting and monitoring of all volunteer and in-kind data.
- Contribute to creating forms for data compilation (volunteers, in-kind, etc.) and other forms for monitoring, aggregating, and analyzing data, reports, etc.
- Plans and designs the preparation and distribution of the monthly newsletter, the News Express, for Head Start, Early Head Start-CCP and Early Head Start programs.
- Participates in the program’s Advisory committee meetings and assists with Policy Council and parent representation for these meetings.
- Attend community meetings to promote Head Start/Early Head Start programs and Greene Lamp programs.
- Participate in training opportunities to increase work performance and staff development goals.
- Requires overnight and out of state travel for staff development purposes.
- Establishes and maintains open working relationships with the community, agency staff and administrators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in social work, human development, family services, or a related field.
- Complete the Leadership series component of the Family Services Credential (with the exception of staff with an advanced degree in behavioral science (social work, sociology, human development, family services or related field)
